Rotarians host three from orchestra Marilyn Koepke, president of the Monroe Symphony Board of Directors, was a recent guest speaker at the West Monroe Rotary Club.
Introduced by rotarian Janice Sigur, Koepke was accompanied by two other members of the orchestra: Vicky Valenzano, executive director, and Mark McCleary, cellist.
Emphasizing the importance of a community including cultural organizations in its infrastructure, Koepke said that people who are looking for a place to live often take into account what is offered in the way of artistic opportunities. Businesses also consider this fact before moving into an area. Koepke encouraged residents to support and to take part in such endeavors as the Monroe Symphony Orchestra not only for enjoyment, but also for enhancement of Monroe and West Monroe.
The West Monroe Rotary Club meets at noon on Tuesdays at the West Monroe Convention Center. |
