Monroe transit extends hours The Monroe Transit System recently announced it has extended the Night Rider Service to 10:30 p.m. in order to help local retail and second shift workers get a ride home.
The Night Rider Service goes everywhere, including Pecanland Mall, Louisville, Burg Jones, Winnsboro Road, Parkview and other areas.
"It's very important to us that we are available to transport our passengers when they need a ride, especially folks that depend on us to take them to and from work," said Valerie McElhose, general manager for MTS. "We want people to see us as a viable transportation solution and will do all we can to adjust our service when necessary to better meet their needs."
Current transit fares are $1 per trip. With a Day Tripper pass, you can ride all day from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. for $2.50.
