The Monroe Symphony League will hold the 2009 Monroe Symphony League Marjorie Stricklin Emerging Artists Competition on Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall on the campus of the University of Louisiana-Monroe.

The preliminary round auditions begin at 9:45 a.m. and are open to the public, free of charge.

The final round of auditions, determining the competition's overall winners, will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Biedenharn Recital Hall and will be presented in recital format.

Tickets are required for the final round of the competition and are available at a cost of $5 per ticket.

Available seating is limited.

Tickets may be purchased by calling the Monroe Symphony Orchestra office at 812-6761.

Tickets will also be available on the day of the competition in the recital hall lobby.
