Northwestern State University awarded degrees to 578 graduates at its fall commencement exercises held Dec. 19 in Prather Coliseum.

The commencement speaker was Scott Angelle, secretary of the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources.

Ouachita Parish graduates include:

Monroe— Richard Scott, Bachelor of General Studies; Stephanie Dannehl, Demario Moore, Mattice Wells, Bachelor of Science; and Angela Tolbert, Master of Education.

Sterlington — Catherine Miller, Bachelor of Science in Nursing;

West Monroe — Kristin Smith, Associate of General Studies; and Kenya Brown, Bachelor of Social Work.
