Job fair planned for Jan. 8; targets IP workers Northeast Louisiana Economic Alliance and the Louisiana Workforce Commission are finalizing plans for a job fair and education expo for former International Paper Employees on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009.
Although the job fair is for IP former employees, others interested in jobs may also attend.
The event will take place at the Bastrop Municipal Center, 1901 Moeller Drive in Bastrop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Businesses from the surrounding area and states that have current job openings will be in attendance and available to take applications and discuss personnel needs. Attendees are encouraged to bring updated resumes.
Representatives from Louisiana Technical College, Delta Community College, Universities of Louisiana and Arkansas; ULM Small Business Development Center and others will be available to provide information about education programs that will assist in transitioning to other employment.
