Church adopts
Monroe students
The R.E.S.C.U.E. Ministry at the Church of Christ at Parkview Drive in Monroe adopted students at Madison James Foster Elementary School for the holidays.
School officials selected 25 students to receive Christmas gifts, which were distributed at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, in a special assembly at the school.
The R.E.S.C.U.E. Ministry operates as an outreach effort for the local men and women of our United Stated Armed Forces who have been deployed to protect our country. Once a month, they ship care packages as a reminder that Christians in northeast Louisiana are praying for them and that their service is appreciated.
The church is led by senior minister Bro. Larry S. Burrell; elders, Bro. Willie Anderson and Bro. Bobby Simmons; and deacons, Bro. Calvin Croft Sr. and Bro. Roderick Washington.
