Ouachita COA provides Tax Aide The Ouachita Council on Aging will again be providing facilities for the AARP Tax-Aide program in 2009.
This program is staffed by volunteers who provide free tax help for taxpayers with middle and low income, with special attention to those age 60 and older, and is set up to assist taxpayers in the preparation of standard tax returns. Assistance with complex returns (rental income, farm income, etc.) is not provided.
All tax returns will be filed electronically. Service will be provided 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 3 through April 1.
Appointments are required, please call 387-0535, ext. 200 to reserve your spot.
Volunteers are needed to assist with this program and will receive tax and computer training from IRS certified instructors. Training begins Jan. 5.
