Ling to appear at ULM in April

Lisa Ling, host of "National Geographic Explorer" and former co-host of "The View," will speak at the University of Louisiana at Monroe at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, in Brown Auditorium. Tickets will go on sale Jan. 12.

Her appearance is part of the Presidential Lyceum Series, an initiative that began in 2003 under the direction of ULM President James E. Cofer; the series promotes intellectual exchange among ULM faculty, staff, students, and the community.

Prior to travelling the globe for Explorer, Ling was a co-host of Barbara Walters's daytime talk show, "The View."

Ling, who hosts "Who Cares About Girls on the Oxygen Network," has been working in television for 15 years.
