Church news published on Nov. 20, 2008 First Christian Church, 3400 Forsythe Ave., Monroe.
Saturday, Nov. 29 — 10 a.m.-4 p.m.-The first Camel Day will be held. Free and open to the public. The well-known camel Christmas display will be out for families to take Christmas pictures with. Refreshments and Christmas music will be provided. At 5 p.m., a caroling service will be held around the nativity scene with singers from several area churches.

Sunday, Nov. 23 —9 a.m.-Traditional worship. 10 a.m.-Sunday school for all ages. 10:50 a.m.- Contemporary worship. 4:45 p.m.-Children's choir practice. 5 p.m.-Junior & senior high youth meet; Pathfinders meets. 5:30 p.m.-C.S.I. and prayer group both meet. 5:45 p.m.-Rock Solid meets.

Wednesday, Nov. 26 — 6:30 a.m.-Men's prayer breakfast meets at Shoney's.

Wednesday, Nov. 19 — 6 p.m.- Pastor Dr. George Wortham began a seminar on world religions. Following sessions will be on Dec. 3, Dec. 10 and Dec. 17. Anyone interested in attending the free seminar may call the church at 396-1103.

Just in time for Thanksgiving, the sale will include items like breads, cakes, candies, cookies, frozen casseroles, jellies, jams and pies.
