Dec. 2 parade raises toys for children The second annual Bawcomville Redneck Christmas Parade will run at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2.
The parade is held in the spirit of charity to help area children receive Christmas gifts.
The parade lines up at 8 a.m. at Riser Elementary School, 100 Price St., West Monroe. The route will take participants down Smith Street, to Jonesboro Road, New Natchitoches Road, and back to the school.
Many types of entrants are encouraged to participate, including floats, cars, trucks, horses, matching bands, walking groups, motorcycles, race cars, dogs, goats, fire trucks, wreckers, beauty queens, RV's, mudbuggies, ATVs and antique car.
Entry fee is $10 per per person or a new, unopened toy. Parade proceeds benefit local children.
Entry forms may be mailed or taken to S&J Farm and Feed, 1508 Thomas Road, West Monroe, LA 71292.
