Opal Paralee Williams Camp
Mrs. Opal Paralee Williams Camp, 99, of West Monroe, passed away on Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, in West Monroe.
Graveside services were at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at Hasley Cemetery Memorial Pavilion with William H. Smith officiating. Visitation was immediately before the service at Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her husband George Ray Camp; parents; two brothers; one sister; and one son-in-law.
Survivors include her daughters, Gloria Madden and husband, Jerry, of West Monroe, and Virginia Sprawls of Tulia, Texas; five grandchildren, Karen Duvall and husband, Everett, Volney Sprawls Jr. and wife, Annette, Vici Bodkin and husband, Matt, Jennifer Garrett and husband, Glynn, Cindy Jinkerson and husband, Darryl; 12 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Allen Williams and wife, Evelyn,, of Tulsa, Okla.; and numerous nieces.

Bobbie Jean Campbell
Funeral services for Mrs. Bobbie Jean Campbell, 77, of West Monroe, were at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in West Monroe. Revs. Randy Dowdy and Pete Gilbert officiated. Interment was at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Calhoun under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. Visitation was immediately before the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Herman Dean Campbell.
Survivors include sons, Jerry Sargent of West Monroe, Ronnie Hollie and wife, Angie, of Florida, and Dusty Campbell and wife, Deanna; daughter, Candace Lynn Cornwell and husband, Ralph; grandchildren, Elizabeth Sargent, Tanner Sargent, Courtney Sargent and Ian Hollie; brothers, Haskell Spigner and wife, Neva, and William Spigner and wife, Ann; numerous other relatives and friends; and her beloved chow, B.J.

Hazel Mayes Dickerson
A going home celebration for Hazel M. Dickerson, 93, of Eros, was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe. Rev. Oda "Tuck" Roberts officiated. Interment followed at Antioch Cemetery in Eros. Visitation was immediately before the service.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Delma Roberts Mayes; husband, Herman; son, Henson; sister, Mildred Mayes Dickerson; and brother in-law, Clayton Dickerson.
Survivors include her nephews, Malcolm Dickerson and wife, Debbie, and Kenneth Dickerson and wife, Ellie, all of Eros; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and sister in-law, Evelyn Looper.
Pallbearers were Glen Roberts, Terry Fuller, Bobby Fowler, Dalton Fowler, Harold Murray and Richard Ingram. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Caldwell, Joe Murray, Wayne Murray, Carl Coates, Dewain Coates and Jim Wall.

James Robert Farr
James Robert Farr, 57, passed away Wednesday Nov. 5, 2008, at his home.
A private family service was held Sunday, Nov. 9, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. A memorial service will be held at later date.
Survivors include his mother, Betty; brother, Douglas Farr and his wife, Kristy; brother, Paul Farr and his wife, Ann; and nephew, Cole Farr.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Memorial United Methodist Church.

Betty Godwin
The funeral for Mrs. Betty Godwin, 72, of Monroe, was at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at Christian Life Church in Monroe with Revs. Danny Chance and Glen Chance officiating. Interment was at Hasley Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe. Visitation was Thursday evening at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Wilson Barker and stepfather, O.R. "Doc" McKeithen.
Survivors include her husband, James Douglas Godwin; son, David Godwin and wife, Kathy; daughter, Dee Gibson and husband, Ron; mother, Elsie McKeithen; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, David McKeithen and wife, Linda, and J.O. McKeithen and wife, Johnnie; and numerous other relatives.
Pallbearers were Roy Darnell, Brad Ellerbe, Gary Godwin, Ronnie McKeithen, Matt Thompson and Don Adams.

William Gunther
Mr. William "Bill" Gunther, 57, of Ruston, passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008.
His funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Mickey Hudnall officiating. Interment was in Pine Memorial Gardens in Ruston. Visitation was Thursday evening.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl William Gunther; and brother, James "Jimmy" Gunther.
Survivors include his wife, Shelli Gunther; daughter, Tess Gunther of New York; sons, Shadd Sparks of Lubbock, Texas, and Shannon Sparks of Ruston; mother, Theresa Gunther; two brothers, Robert "Bobby" Gunther and Carl "Bubba" Gunther; two sisters, Diane Reynolds and Cathy Goldberg, all of New York; two grandchildren, Austen Sparks and Shaun Sparks; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Lee Donnell Herron
Lee Donnell Herron, 83, of Monroe, passed away Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, after a boating accident.
His funeral was at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. J. Roddy Taylor officiating. Visitation was immediately before the service. Arrangements were by Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benoit and Lela Herron; son, Jay Herron; and sister, Cornelia Herron Garrison.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mariann Baugh Herron; daughters, Mari Herron Cooper and husband, John, of Houston, Texas, and Martha Herron Solko and husband, Doug, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; son, Lee Scott Herron and wife, Lisa, of West Monroe; two granddaughters, Madison Cooper of Houston, Texas, and Laralee Herron of West Monroe; three grandsons, Jeb Herron of Monroe, McKinley Herron of West Monroe and Aaron Anzalone of Houston, Texas; several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large extended family; and a multitude of friends.
Honorary pallbearers were Gary Roberts, C. R. "Bubba" Russell, George Mouk, James A. Neill, Rosco Jones, Gordon Surguine, Larry Turner, Larry Blackman, Scott Pickett, Larry Voorhees and Donny Bartlett.

Jessie Evelyn Smith Hicks
Mrs. Jessie Evelyn Smith (MA) Hicks, 83, of West Monroe, passed away Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, in West Monroe.
Her funeral was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe with Revs. Larry Linson and Rusty Grant officiating. Interment was in Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl L.(PA) Hicks and parents, Wiley S. Smith and Eula B. Ford Smith.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy Martin (Leon) of Lewisville, Texas, and Pam Wall of West Monroe; grandchildren, Lori Martin of Chesapeake, Va., Andy Platt (Adele) of New Iberia, Jill Carter (Jack) of Memphis, Tenn., and Jason Platt of West Monroe; great-grandchildren, Josh, Jared, Brooke, Jada, Drew, Aidan, Madilyn, Josie and Luke; sisters, Patsy Jean Baker of Conover, N.C. and Mary Alice Bell of San Jose, Calif.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ann and Doyle Sheffield of Cartersville, Ga., Sue and Don Robertson of Jena; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Andy and Jason Platt; and nephews, Ricky Nolan, Ronnie Randy and Rod Dollar.

Elrie Parks Rogers
Graveside services for Mr. Elrie Parks Rogers, 97, of West Monroe, were at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, with interment following. Rev. David Brown officiated and arrangements were by Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe. Visitation was immediately before the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; sisters; mother of his children, Mildred M. Rogers; and second wife, Helen E. Rogers.
Survivors include his daughters, Jo Ann Hembree and Beckie Noland and husband, Terry; stepdaughter, Melodye Pikey and husband, Kevin, and their children; grandchildren, Theresa Munoz, husband Vic and their daughter Brandi, Lane Noland, Thad Noland, wife Erin, and Ty Noland.

Otis A. Rogers
Mr. Otis A. Rogers, 82, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. William "Dub" Massey officiating. Interment was in Twin Cities Memorial Gardens. Visitation was Saturday evening.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Will Rogers; son, Daniel Allan Rogers; stepsons, Ted and Tommy Bailey; three sisters; and three brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Furn Bailey Rogers; son, Timothy Otis Rogers of Daytona, Fla.; daughters, Leslie Rogers and husband, Michael, of Clinton, and Beverly Rogers Andrus and husband, Michael, of Monroe; stepdaughters, Sandy Terrell and husband, Julian, of West Monroe, and Gaye May of Alexandria; sisters, Annie Mae Rice of Springhill, and Willie Lea Chambers of Shreveport; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Ramon Louis St.Vgine
Mr. Ramon Louis St.Vgine, 78, passed away Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, after a sudden illness.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Dan McClure officiating. Interment was in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday evening.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis W. St.Vgine; mother, Myrtle Elliott St.Vgine Poindexter; and son, David G. St.Vgine.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Melba Jean St.Vgine; son, Danny R. St.Vgine and wife, Beverly; daughters, Debra Wedgeworth and husband, Dennis, Dori St.Vgine Givens and husband, Louis, and Dana Benson and husband, Douglas; daughter-in-law, Kelli St.Vgine; six wonderful grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ramona Lemoine, Pat Warren, and Connie Whaler.

Virginia Jean Stone
Mrs. Virginia Jean "Tillie" Stone, 79, of Monroe, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank "Buster" Stone.
Survivors include her daughter, Gwen Surratt of Baton Rouge; two sons, Robert Stone and wife, Cindy, of Monroe, and Scott Stone and wife, Cindy, of West Monroe; six grandchildren, Kim Stone Smith, Michael Surratt, Casey Surratt, Cody Stone, Cade Stone and Hunter Stone.

Danny Maurice Taylor

He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Evelyn Taylor.

Ms. Gloria Jean Traylor, 69 of Eros, passed away on Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, in Ruston.
Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Frantom Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Marshall Douglas officiating. Arrangements were by Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe. Visitation was Tuesday evening at Ouachita Baptist Church in West Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, G.B. and Ava Crowell; two brothers, Jack Crowell and Ferrell Crowell; and sister, Elizabeth Hart.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandy Loving and husband, Mike; son, Gary Traylor and wife, Lisa; grandsons, Jim and Ben Traylor; brother, G.W. Crowell; sister, Elise Roberts; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley E. and Nancy Ada Hudson Brister; husband, Edgar Walding; son, Larry Walding; brothers, J.W. Brister, Jesse, Spurge, Homer Houston and Lawson Brister; and four sisters, Jettie Brister Haahn, Ava Brister Dyess, Emmeline Brister Willis and Maude Brister Holly.
Survivors include her granddaughters, Kathy Elledge, Susan Walding, Sherry Smith and Benji Hendrix; one sister, Lorene Brister Holland; brother, Carl Brister; great-grandchildren, Daniel Coates, Casey Russell, Ryan Smith, Kate-Lynn Hendrix, Rachel Elledge and Brittany Elledge; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend of hers, Betty Jean Davis.
