ULM women finish 13th at Beach Blast
The ULM women's golf team finished in 13th place Tuesday after the final round of the UAB Fall Beach Blast at The Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club in Gulf Shores, Ala.
The Warhawks fired a second-round team score of 316, moving up one spot on the leaderboard. Columbia held onto its day-one lead carding a team score of 300 to win the tournament while Stevy Loy (Columbia) stormed back with a second round, 5-under, to win individual medalist honors.
Sara Larsson and Taynee Pearson both stroked a 4-over 76 to finish 30th and 36th, respectively. Larsson led ULM with four birdies and jumped 17 spots on the leaderboard while Pearson added 19 pars and leaped 18 spots.
Britany Hanna finished in 50th place after firing a 80-84–164. Lina Billing also added 19 pars, carding an 8-over 80 to finish in a tie for 55th.
Along with Loy's medalist honors, UAB's Christina Wentworth, Belmont's Lorie Warren, Samford's Sara Hunt, Indiana State's Kayley Bodine and Jacksonville State's Laura Cutler earned all-tournament honors.
The ULM women's golf team completed its fall schedule and will be back in action in the spring starting with the Islander Spring Classic in Corpus Christi, Texas on Feb. 23.
