His funeral was held Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Interment was in Antioch Cemetery in Eros. Visitation was Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mabel L. Prestage Bailey, 96, of Shreveport and formerly of Monroe, passed
away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, in her residence.
Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bailey; daughter, Barbara Montgomery Reese; and sister, Virginia Shaw Abbott.

Mrs. Lillian Chance Green, 84, of Sterlington, passed away Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.
Her funeral was at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe, with Rev. Billy Carter officiating. Interment was in Carlock Cemetery in Hamburg, Ark. Visitation was Saturday evening at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George N. Norrell and Brooke Coulter Norrell of Ashley County, Ark.; her first husband, Walter H. Chance; daughter, Violet Chance; and son, Charles Leon Chance.
Survivors include her husband, Louis Green of Sterlington; three sons, Bobby Chance of Hamburg, Ark., Donald Chance of Crossett, Ark., and David Chance and wife, Ruth, of Sheridan, Ark.; stepson, Wayne Green of Alexandria, and stepdaughter, Brenda Lewis of Sterlington; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Gray of Monroe and Mary Ruth Johnston of Harrell, Ark.; and two brothers, William Norrell of Crossett, Ark., and James Norrell of Shreveport.

Norma Stratton Hollis
Norma Stratton Hollis, 89, of West Monroe, went to be with Christ at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, after a brief illness in West Monroe.
Her funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at White's Ferry Road Church of Christ Chapel. Brother Bill Smith and immediate family members officiated. Interment followed at the Church of Christ Cemetery in Spearsville under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Quinten Theodore Hollis.
Survivors include her five children, Joyce Bracken, William R. Hollis and wife, Jenny, Nancy Chin and husband, David, Mary Baughman and Sallie Woodward; 16 grandchildren, whom she adored and they showed their affection by calling her "Granny"; 17 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dixie Stratton Nelson of Homer.

James Earl Jones, 80, of Monroe, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at St. Francis North Hospital in Monroe.
His funeral was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Charles Stokes and Tracy Ferris officiating. Burial was in Transport Cemetery near Dodson. Visitation was Tuesday evening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierce and Taircy Jones; and brothers, Carmel and Marvin Jones.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Iris Claire Jones; children, Bonnie Stokes and husband, Charles, Roland Jones and wife, Donna, and Bryan Jones; sister, Hazel Louise Jones; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. William P. Zimmerman, 88, of Monroe, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Max and Emilie (Schneider) Zimmerman; and wife, Annabelle Wallace Zimmerman, who died in 2004.
Survivors include his son, Merle Charles Zimmerman of Woodville, Texas; and two grandchildren, Julie Marie Zimmerman of Austin, Texas, and Andrew Ryan Zimmerman of Jackson, Wyo.
