Nexus series examines Heartland maitre d' Nov. 6

The educational and cultural Chautauqua Nexus series will continue its 2008 fall semester roster with scheduled discussions throughout November.

All Nexuses occur at the University of Louisiana-Monroe's Hemphill Airway and Computer Science Building, room 134. Sessions are free, informal and open to the public.

On Thursday, Nov. 6, at 5:30 p.m., attendees will learn about "The World's Most Famous Underhood Maitre D' of the Heartland," presented by Sonny Culp.

"The Role of Consultants in Life" is Tilman Sheets' topic at 7:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17.

Dr. Monica Bontty will conclude the 2008 fall semester Nexuses with her presentation Thursday, Nov. 20, at 5:30 p.m., titled "The Nile Flows to Dublin: Egyptian Influences in Early Irish Art and Culture."

The public is invited.

"The Nexus is an opportunity for intellectual and cultural exchange," said Joe McGahan, ULM psychology professor and Chautauqua Nexus organizer.
