Eagles overwhelm Grambling Lab
by Cody Futrell - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The third-ranked Ouachita Christian School Eagles overcame an early deficit to fly past the Grambling Lab Kittens, 41-7, on Friday night.

Kendall Denson rambled through the OCS defense for a five-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to put OCS (7-1, 30 district 2-1A) behind for only the third time this season.

Less than three minutes later, the OCS offense ignited when quarterback Jacob Davis hit Glen Marshall for a 15-yard touchdown pass and kicker Taylor Dawson knotted the score at 7-7.

It was the beginning of a 41-point outburst for the Eagles in unanswered fashion. The OCS defense allowed Grambling Lab to gain just 133 yards of total offense.

Colby Allen ran in his first touchdown of the varsity season to extend the OCS lead to 14-7 when the route began.

Davis was again a solid part of the OCS offensive with 73 yards on 6-of-14 passing and three touchdowns. He also had 62 yards rushing on just three carries during the contest. Dustin Andrews led OCS in rushing with 81 yards on seven carries.

Patrick Laird and Jacob Boles led the Eagles with 10 tackles apiece. The OCS defense used a "bend but don't break" attitude to stifle the Kittens offense after the opening drive.

Darrius Livingston was the star of the Grambling Lab offense after completing 5-of-12 pass attempts for 91 yards during the contest.
