The American Heart Association's annual Heartwalk will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Forsythe Park in Monroe.

As the signature fund-raising event for the American Heart Association, the Start! Heart Walk promotes physical activity and heart-healthy living in a fun family environment. This year more than one million walkers will participate in more than 500 events across the country, raising funds to save lives from this country's No. 1 and No. 3 killers, heart disease and stroke.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. All proceeds benefit the American Heart Association.

For more information contact, call Darla Williford at 677-2483 or e-mail darla.williford@heart.org; or call Mary Eva Bagwell at 388-6946, or e-mail her at mary.bagwell@heart.org.
