The March of Dimes will hold the Annual Gourmet Gala Dinner and Auction at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the West Monroe Convention Center.

The gala is a national signature event of the March of Dimes and raises funds for support of the March of Dimes mission to reduce birth defects, premature births and infant mortality by funding programs of research, education and advocacy, which work to give babies a chance to be born healthy.

The Gourmet Gala pays tribute to the culinary excellence of the chefs, businesses and culinary professionals of Northeast Louisiana.

Decorated stations enhance the festive appeal of participating restaurants, as each chef offers a sampling of signature dishes — from hors d'oeuvres to mouth-watering desserts for auction guests. A silent auction is scheduled for the dining time.

The pinnacle of the event is the live auction, which features donations from restaurants, chefs and businesses, including packages from fine dining to vacations.

Sheriff Royce Toney is the chairman of this year's event.

Tickets are $50 per person and tables of 8 are $400.

Tickets are available at the Muffin Tin or the March of Dimes office, or by calling 387-3650.
