Heartbeat Monroe plans awareness walk

Heartbeat Monroe, an after-suicide support and prevention group, is hosting an awareness memorial walk, at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19 at Kiroli Park in West Monroe.

Registration begins at 1 p.m.

For every suicide there are at least six people gravely affected by the death. Heartbeat Monroe, a nonprofit organization, provides booklets, direct assistance to survivors, involvement in prevention work and community education.
