In particular, one of Dr. Cofer's favorite pieces, "Lento e Largo," the Second Movement of Henryk Górecki's Symphony No. 3, and also titled the "Symphony of Sorrowful Songs," will be featured by the ULM Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Jason Rinehart with soprano soloist Claire Vangelisti.
Performing will be Richard Seiler, Coralie White, Deborah Guillory, and Sonia Hsu, pianists; Sandra Lunte, flute; Scot Humes, clarinet; Marilynn Gibson, trumpet; Micah Everett, trombone; James Boldin, horn; Christopher Thompson, violin; Mark McCleery, cello; Mel Mobley, percussion and composer; bassoonist David Gibson; conductor Jason Rinehart; singers Vangelisti and Matthew James, the new associate dean of Visual and Performing Arts. The ULM Chamber Orchestra will also play on the program. This concert is free to the public. For more information, call 342-1414.
