Carroll on the road again

Booker T. Washington (3-1) is the opponent in the fourth consecutive road game for the Carroll Bulldogs this Friday night.

The C-Dogs have been struggling on defense so far and will go up against an athletic spread pass attack that will test the young defense.

"We cannot get turned around a lot," Carroll head coach Jackie Hamilton said. "Washington is real athletic and will spread it out some on us."

Xavier Gray has improved from week to week but pass rush from the opposition has sent him scrambling like a cook in a diner to find help these days.

The offense must improve quickly after being held scoreless at Richwood last week. B.T.W is averaging 40 points per game over the last two weeks.

Last week, B.T.W bombed Logansport by a score of 40-0.

The pass-happy offense of Booker T. Washington will present a challenge for the C-Dogs defense. "We have to get more physical on the offensive line," Hamilton said. "Right now we have to find a way to run the ball more consistently."

The Carroll offense had seen the emergence of Pierre Martin at running back and hopes he can take a load off Gray's against Booker T. Washington. Martin found little running room in gathering just 13 yards at Richwood last Friday night. Carroll had a net of just 12 team rushing yards against Richwood.
