Oak Grove blew out Sterlington 56-32 last week at "The Grove."

"Things happened too quickly and we got out played," said Sterlington head coach Mike Collins. "We did not match their intensity even though I thought we had a good week of practice."

Sterlington (1-3) started quickly and capitalized on a big Oak Grove (2-2) miscue in the first quarter.

Quarterback Jimmy Pepmiller fumbled the ball near midfield, and Lee Spence returned the ball 41 yards for a score. A two-point conversion gave Sterlington an early 8-0 lead.

Then Pepmiller, along with running back Deoncus Nelson, stepped up for Oak Grove.

Pepmiller ran the ball in for a score from 61-yards out followed by the two-point conversion to tie the game, 8-8.

Nelson rumbled 44 yards moments later to send Oak Grove into the second quarter of play nursing a 15-8 lead over Sterlington.

Cole Bagby made a big catch on a 66-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Logan Dobson to pull the Panthers back into the game at 22-15.

Oak Grove built a 29-8 halftime lead that Sterlington could not overcome. Dobson got the passing game going for Sterlington but the Tigers outgained Sterlington 481-59 in rushing yards.

Bagby also hauled in a spectacular touchdown throw from Dobson from 45 yards out to close out the scoring for the Panthers.

Dobson was 17-of-26 passing for 187 yards and two touchdowns. The junior threw one interception in the contest.

Bagby led all receivers with 111 yards and two touchdowns. Bagby was also in on multiple defensive stops as well.

Sterlington battles OCS (4-0) in a key Ouachita Parish rivalry Friday night at 7 p.m. at Panther Stadium.
