Monroe to host regional workforce summit
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The Louisiana Workforce Commission today announced that Hurricanes Gustav and Ike have forced it to revise the schedule of its 2008 Workforce Summits.

The Commission now will host two larger workforce summits instead of eight smaller, regional summits. The first day-long summit, which will focus on the southern regions of the state, will be held at the Hilton Lafayette on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008. A summit focusing on the northern and central regions of the state will be held in Monroe at the Civic Center on Wednesday, Nov. 5.

The summits will focus on key issues that are vital to all regions of the state while also addressing regional issues.

The workforce summits will afford business owners, economic development professionals, local government officials and other key stakeholders the ability to offer their input for an effective, demand-driven system of workforce development

People interested in attending should register.
