Northeast Louisiana blues artist Brian Sivils will debut his first solo album at the University of Louisiana-Monroe's Chautauqua Nexus, at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25.

The performance and lecture will be held in Room 134 of the Hemphill Airway and Computer Science Building on the ULM campus.

Joining Sivils for the show will be Dennis Scott on drums and 2005 Louisiana Folk Artist of the Year, Tookie Collums, of Po'Henry and Tookie.

Sivils will discuss the recording techniques used in his first solo CD "Once Upon a Time in the Delta." The compilation of original tunes is an all-acoustic project recorded on a farm in northeast Louisiana. This will be the debut of the CD, which was released this month by Boeuf River Records. Executive producer of the project is blues legend Bobby Rush, who worked with Malaco Records in Jackson, Miss. on the master.

Sivils is best known locally for his work as band leader, composer and arranger of the band "Delta Blue."
