'Mother Goose' returns to Biedenharn

After a three-year hiatus, Biedenharn Museum & Gardens will present "Mother Goose," an outdoor children's opera to be performed on the main lawn of ELsong Gardens at the Biedenharn.

For many years, the outdoor children's operas were a signature event for the Biedenharn Museum & Gardens. The event was held in ELsong Gardens in April 2005, but due to renovations and repairs on campus, the event was moved off-site for one year and then was canceled.

Six school performances will be offered on Thursday, Oct. 23 and Friday, Oct. 24. One public performance will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25. Tickets are $3 for children and $4 for adults.

Teachers are invited to reserve seats for the school performances. Times for the school performances are 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and noon each day. Advance registration and payment are required for the school performances.

The event is held in partnership with the University of Louisiana at Monroe School of Visual and Performing Arts.

Parking is available in Forsythe Park or in the large parking lot across the levee.

For more information, please call 387-5281. For a full schedule of upcoming events, visit www.bmuseum.org. The Biedenharn Museum & Gardens is located at 2006 Riverside Drive in Monroe . The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 2-5 p.m. Sunday.
