River Oakes rolled over Adams County Christian School 48-21 Friday in Natchez, Miss., in Mississippi Private School Association competition.

Cody Trichell had a hand in three touchdowns from the quarterback position. Trichell tossed a 26-yard touchdown strike to Charles Bowie in the first half.

Trichell added a pair of touchdown runs on 81 yards rushing for River Oakes (3-1).

"Cody (Trichell) continues to play well," said River Oaks coach Robert Hannah. "He had a real good game."

Gabe Bowers and John Rocket each blocked a punt and returned them for touchdowns. Bowers had a return of 39-yards, while Rocket scored from 21-yards out.

A solid, methodical rushing attack by the Mustangs wore on ACCS (0-4). River Oaks gained 257 yards rushing in the contest.

Favorites to win the MPSA district 3-2A, River Oakes looks to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2005.

With ACCS being stuffed on virtually every touch of the football, River Oaks ran away with the game early. The Mustangs built a 29-7 halftime lead before cruising to victory.

River Oakes has a bye this week.
