Louisiana Tech's summer quarter commencement exercises were held Thursday, Aug. 14 in Ruston, with diplomas awarded to 302 graduates.

Area graduates, listed by city and degree, are as follows:

Monroe — Amber E. Hutto, bachelor of fine arts communication design; Melanie Danielle James, bachelor of arts; Danielle Joy Miller, master of science health and exercise science; Meghan E. Plummer, master of business administration; Erika N. Smith, bachelor of science medical technology; Kathleen S. Tumey, master of fine arts; Latoya Michele Wheaton, master of science curriculum and instruction; Joshua Daniel Wood, master of arts counseling and guidance; Sarah G. Youngblood, bachelor of arts, magna cum laude; Dale Glenn Zimmerman, master of arts in teaching.

West Monroe — Erica Ellis Banks, bachelor of science, cum laude; Sarah L. Carmichael, bachelor of arts; Jessica D. Carrico, bachelor of fine arts studio; Judy Elizabeth Cousans, master of science curriculum and instruction; Clinton J. Foster, bachelor of science electrical engineering technology; Brittany R. Hankins, associate of science health information technology; Brandy Gail Jones, bachelor of science; Sarah Joyce Keyes, bachelor of arts; Brent A. May, bachelor of science; Heather E. Plummer, bachelor of science kinesiology and health promotion; Jessica Allen Smith, bachelor of science; Mary Lisa Vige, master of education; Melissa Ann Williams, master of science curriculum and instruction.

Several local students were on the summer quarter President's and Dean's honor lists.

Students whose names are followed by an asterisk earned recognition as members of the President's Honor List. That distinction signifies achievement of at least a 3.8 academic grade point average on a minimum of nine semester hours completed (100-level or higher), with no grade lower than a B.

To be eligible for the Dean's Honor Lists, a student is required to earn at least a 3.5 academic grade point average with no grade lower than a C on a minimum of nine semester hours completed (100-level or higher).

The following Ouachita Parish students were honored:

Calhoun: Brittney M. Cloud, Jenna Lea Henderson and Krisi Suzanne Key.

Monroe: Joseph Andrew Hearington, Joe K. Montgomery, Erika N. Smith* and Marcus M. Young

West Monroe: Melissa Lyn Bordelon*, Whitney L. Chapman*, Jesse C. Gresham, Whitney D. Haynes, Joanna Herman*, Jeanna Kaye House, Justin A. Kees, Brent A. May, Bridgette E. McGee, Crystal Re'nee Ridgway, Erin Lindsey Sanchez* and Candice M. Vasquez.
