Registration extended for Punt, Pass & Kick
Registration forms are being accepted until Wednesday, Aug. 27, for the 2008 Van-Trow Toyota NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick competition sponsored by St. Francis Medical Center and the North Louisiana Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Clinic.
The contest will be held prior to the 2008 Bayou Jamb on Saturday, Aug. 30 at the University of Louisiana at Monroe's Brown Stadium. The competition is free and open to boys and girls ages 8-15 as of Dec. 31. Check-in will begin at 10 a.m. the day of event and the contest will begin at 11 a.m.
Each registration form must have a copy of the child's birth certificate attached to the form in order for the child to compete. Each participant will receive a T-shirt courtesy of H. Mickel Sports.
The top three winners in each category will be awarded and all participants will be recognized during half-time of the Ruston vs. Ouachita game during Bayou Jamb.
The NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick Program is held annually nationwide and has more than 4 million participants. Local winners will move on to compete at an assigned Sectional Competition to be announced in October.
Pre-registration is required by Aug. 27 and forms can be picked up at Van-Trow Toyota or H. Mickel Sports, or on the Bayou Jamb Web site at www.bayoujamb.com.
