Bayou Black Rodeo events this weekend

The annual Bayou Black Open Rodeo will begin Friday, Aug. 22.

Mayor Jamie Mayo has declared Friday as "Rodeo Day" in the City of Monroe for all city employees and citizens. The mayor encourages everyone to wear their boots, hats and jeans to show support for the 8th Annual Bayou Black Open Rodeo.

Thousands of spectators are expected at the event, which continues through the weekend.
