Pecanland Mall in Monroe will host UR Vote Counts, an opportunity for teens to vote in a mock presidential election. The event will be held from noon-6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30 and Sunday, Aug. 31.

This national forum addresses topics such as the environment, healthcare, the Iraq war, social security, national security and education.

UR Votes Count takes place at 150 malls across America in 42 states over six weeks.

Each voter who participates at a mall event receives an instant prize. One winner per mall will receive a $100 Discover gift card.

At the end of the six-week tour, three ballots will be chosen to win national prizes including the grand prize of a $5,000 GGP mall shopping spree; an entertainment package including a laptop computer, digital camera, flat screen TV, a sound system, a digital video camera and a $250 Discover gift card; a fall wardrobe package , including items from the fall line of C7P, a Chip & Pepper Production, and a $1,000 GGP mall shopping spree.
