Girl Scouts plan sign-up jamboree

The third annual Scouting Safari jamboree registration event will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Louisiana Purchase Gardens & Zoo.

The event is presented by Girl Scouts of Louisiana-Pines to the Gulf. The first 100 girls will receive free zoo passes.

Free food will be available and activities will include dance teams, a jumper, door prizes and the chance for girls to meet and pet live animals with Dora the Explorer. Miss Louisiana 2008 Blair Abene will also be on hand.
