The August "Wild Friday" at Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20.

Chris Rice, a graduate student at the University of Louisiana-Monroe, will present the two-part program about bats. First, he will give an overview of bats, talking about conservation, threats, benefits, basic morphology and species found in Louisiana. He'll also discuss current research. The next segment will be about his research on Rafinesque's big-eared bats on Upper Ouachita National Wildlife Refuge.

The program is free and open to the public.

For more information or directions, call Gay Brantley at 387-1114.
