Biedenharn offers evening of astronomy

Biedenharn Museum & Gardens will hold Moonlit Gardens from 9-11 p.m. Friday, July 18, in ELsong Gardens, 2006 Riverside Drive in Monroe.

Admission is free and reservations are not necessary.

Limited seating will be available.

Guest Don Wheeler, an associate professor of science at Delta Community College, will set up telescopes for the public to use.

Wheeler will be available to answer questions and will have information available on the local astronomy club, Ouachita Valley Astronomy League.

Moonlit Gardens are scheduled the Friday closest to the full moon.

Other upcoming events include the second annual Coke Road Show from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2; children's drop-in activity: Plant Stakes from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9; and Moonlit Gardens from 9-11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15.
