West Monroe Rotary Club installed 2008-2009 officers and board members at its annual installation banquet on June 24 in the West Monroe Convention Center. George Wortham, outgoing president, relinquished the gavel to the incoming president, Mauri Turner. Wortham was presented a plaque for his service to the club.

Chuck Hogan will serve as vice-president/president-elect and secretary-treasurer. Board members are Jerry Edmondson, William Guyton, Walter Lacey, Jerry Lazenby, Craig Pate and Janice Sigur.

Richard Gardner, owner of Jaz Automotive, was inducted as a new member of the group. He was welcomed and presented with a Rotary lapel pin.

Bayou Blend, a barbershop quartet associated with the Barbershop Harmony Society, provided entertainment for the evening. The quartet sang a variety of selections, bringing laughter to the crowd with serenades to the couples who had been married the longest (Don and Jean Halsell, 54 years) and the shortest time (Chuck and Staci Hogan, 9 years).
