Lavinia B. Allen
Mrs. Lavinia B. Allen, 83, of Monroe, went to be with her heavenly father and savior on Monday, July 7, 2008.
Her funeral was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Burial was at 3 p.m. Wednesday, in Sallis, Miss.
Visitation was immediately before the service.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Grover N. Allen.
Survivors include her daughter, Dianne A. Graham and husband, Michael F. Graham of Monroe; her son, Robert N. Allen of Greenwood, Miss.; five grandchildren, Michael A. Graham and wife, Jennifer, Lauren G. Bailey and husband, Mike, all of Monroe, Melanie Bonds and husband, Mark, of Birmingham, Ala., Beverly Allen of Greenwood, Miss., and Grover Allen of Vicksburg, Miss.; great-grandchildren, Beau and Katie Bailey, Caroline and Lauren Graham, Tara Bonds and Sierra Allen; one sister, Jane Daniel and husband, Tommy, of Blackstone, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sister Eileen Corcoran
Sister Eileen Corcoran, OSF, 94, passed away at St. Francis Medical Center after serving more than seven decades as a Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady.
A Mass of the Resurrection was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008, in the St. Francis Medical Center Chapel with Bishop Michael Duca officiating. Interment was at St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Monroe. Visitation was Friday with a Rosary at 6 p.m. at the chapel.
Survivors include her sister, Sr. Marie Edana Corcoran, OSF, a member of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Order; three nieces, Margaret, Mary and Chrissy; and her lifelong friends and caregivers, Sharon Burton, LaVerne Patrick, Louise Turner and Angela Jones.
Memorial donations may be made to the Franciscan Foundation c/o St. Francis Administration, P.O. Box 1901, Monroe, LA 71210 in honor of Sr. Eileen Corcoran.
Pallbearers were Darell LeBlanc, John Cameron, Tony "Nino" Danna, Dr. Richard LeFebvre, Dr. Ran Phillips and John Guerriero. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Brandle, Colm. O'Mahoney, Sam Danna, Tony Danna, Dr. Charles Sampognaro and Dr. Charles Morgan.

Hettie A. Dickerson
Mrs. Hettie A. Dickerson, 96, of Monroe, went home to be with her savior on Friday, July 4, 2008.
Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Monday, July 7, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Joe Solomon officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Survivors include her son, Herman Dickerson and wife, Betty, of Monroe, N.C.; daughter, Sarah (Jen) Kimball and husband, R.W., of Monroe, La.; granddaughters, Michelle Dickerson Huffman and husband, Mark, of Monroe, N.C., Candace Hart and husband, Mark, of Montego Bay, Jamaica, Paige Kimball Ricks and husband, Rocky, of Zachary, Patreese Kimball Billhorn and husband, Jeff, of Greer, S.C., and Christi Kimball Ramares and husband, John, of Nashville, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Danielle Ricks Andre' and husband, Ben, Sarah Jane and Harrison Billhorn, Shelby, Grant, Jack and Michael Ramares, Sarah, Carmen and Lily Huffman, Maya, Ethan and Cameron Hart; great-great grandchild, Anna Claire Ricks-Boyd; numerous nieces and nephews; a faithful caregiver and friend, Amy Robinson; and dear friend, Huldia Elder.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Herman Dickerson.

Leon Horace Dyer
Mr. Leon Horace Dyer, 86, of Monroe and formerly of Vidalia, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 11, at Bethel Baptist Church in Holly Ridge with Rev. Keith Evans officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Visitation is 5-6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Beard Dyer; and second wife, Lea McDonald Dyer.
Survivors include his sons, Ross Dyer and wife, Anne, of Vidalia, and Allan Dyer and wife, Linda, of Springhill, Tenn.; stepsons, former state Rep. Charles R. McDonald and wife, Patsy, and Donnie McDonald and wife, Judy; four grandchildren, Ross Dyer Jr. and wife, Ursula, Shannon Hovdet and husband, Tim, Kristy Yentes and husband, M.J., and Scott McDonald and wife, Leazel; and seven great-grandchildren.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Birdie Louise White Fragala
Funeral services for Mrs. Birdie Louise White Fragala, 87, of Monroe, were at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Jesus The Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Msgr. Edmund Moore officiating. Interment was in Christ Church Cemetery in Bastrop under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Visitation was Wednesday evening with a vigil wake service at 6 p.m.
Survivors include her son, David and Pat Fragala; daughters, Claire and Kendall Griggs, and Gina and David Kennedy; grandchildren, Kyle (Amie) Fragala, Lauren (Vinny) Dauge, April (Billy) Holland, Sarah Williams, Amanda Williams, Rachel (Andrew) Welsh and Michael Kennedy; great-grandchildren Kylie and Kelsey Fragala, Vincent and Dominic Dauge and Cole Holland; sister, Pauline Robinson; and brother, James and Jane White.
She was preceded in death by Frank, her husband of 50 years, and one brother, David M. White.

Nellie Beatrice Freeman
Mrs. Nellie Beatrice Freeman, 88, of West Monroe, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2008, at her home.
Her funeral was at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 6, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe with Dr. Greg Clark officiating. Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Calhoun. Visitation was Saturday evening at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband of 60 years, Clifford J. "Peck" Freeman; three sisters, Dorothy Louise Linder, Louise Monteleon Smith and Vivian Linder Hansen; two brothers, Willis Dewitt Linder and SFC Wallace Richard Linder; daughter in-law, Maxie Mount Freeman; and two great-grandsons, Thomas Michael Freeman and PFC Ricky A. Morris Jr.
Survivors include her sister, Jessie E. Delamar; two sons, Wallace E. Freeman and wife, Shirley, and Robert W. Freeman; two daughters, Dorothy Freeman Blackstock and husband C.M. "Bill" and Judith A. Freeman, all of West Monroe; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one special caretaker, Sweetie.
Pallbearers were Johnny R. Freeman, David C. Lockard, Mahlon Blackstock, Robert E. Freeman, Max Morris, Casey Kent, Matthew C. Lockard and Clay Blackstock.

Charles H. Henderson
Funeral services for Rev. Charles Hubert Henderson, 79, of West Monroe, were at 10 a.m. today, July 10, 2008, at Revival Campground Church with Rev. Stanton Groan officiating. Interment followed in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe. Visitation was Wednesday evening at the church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue Henderson and his son, Michael Henderson.
Survivors include sisters, Joyce Mathenia of Imperial, Mo., and Mary Ann Rogers of San Springs, Okla.; brother, Edward Ray Henderson of Dallas, Texas; stepson, James Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

James W. "Jim" McClung, 84, died Sunday, June 29, 2008 in Tulsa, Okla.
His funeral was at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe with Rev. Billy Taylor officiating. Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Garden Cemetery in Calhoun. Visitation was Wednesday evening.
Survivors include his wife, Lore, and stepchildren Lester Cannon, Tina Reeves and Forrest Cannon and wife, Deedra; his own children, Donna Whitaker and husband, Ralph, Karen Heath and husband, Neal, Peggy Malcomb and husband, Danny, Sandy McClung, Michael McClung and wife, Lisette, and Janet McClung; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Lee Myers of Perryville, Ark.. He was preceded in death by his other sisters, Hilma Cunningham, Marion Ross and Billy Olmstead; and his first wife, Sue Johnston.

Billie Gordon Smith, 64, of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2008, in West Monroe.

Survivors include his wife of seven years, Patsy Fay Smith; sons, Billie Gordon Smith Jr., Harold Jiles and wife, Jamie, of Monticello, Ark., Derrick Jiles and wife, Crystal, of Calhoun; daughters, Dawn Boone and husband, Mike, of West Monroe, Kim Perez and husband, Bonie, of Navarre, Fla., Natalie Morgan of Navarre, Fla.; brother, Robert Smith and wife, Brenda, of Calhoun; sister, Betty Wiltcher and husband, George, of Bernice. He was preceded in death by his father, Newt Smith, mother, Hazel Long Smith; brothers, Milton Smith and Johnny Smith; sisters, Margie Murray and Laura Gilmore.

Graveside services were at 4 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery in Jonesboro under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe. Visitation was Tuesday evening.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Thomas; daughters, Patty Watts and husband, Sonny, and Carol Eldridge and husband Tommy; son, David Thomas; five grandchildren, Stefanie McBride and husband, Michael, Heather Linton and husband, Josh, Mallory Watts, Tyler Eldridge and Jeremy Eldridge; and two great-grandchildren, Rylee McBride and Abel McBride.
