Church hosts western-themed play, events "The Meadows," presented by local playwright Rodney Ray and his production company, R-Squared Productions" will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday, July 11, at First Baptist Church of West Monroe.
Doors open at 5 p.m. The secular performance has a western theme and utilizes local talent, some of whom have performed in previous Ray productions. "Each year we try to do something new and fresh," said Ray. "This year promises to be no different. Our goal, and my passion, is to provide a quality performance for the entire family. For sure this isn't your normal Church Theater."
A mechanical bull will be on hand before the show for attendees to ride. Guests will have a chance to dress in period outfits and take a photo. After the show, guests are invited to a gathering with music, food and soft drinks. At the end of the show, a drawing will he held to give away a $1,000 vacation package to be used towards a vacation of the winner's choosing.
All events are covered in the admission price of $5 per person.
