Cernigliaro, Bowen honored
Ouachita Parish prep baseball players are well represented in the Louisiana Baseball Coaches Association All-State lists for 2008. West Monroe had three players on the list and Neville had five. State 1A champion Ouachita Christian School had two players make the list and four players from state class C champion Claiborne Christian had four players make the list.
"These are the guys you can't replace," said West Monroe coach Mark Sims. "It's going to be up to our young guys to step up and start. It will be hard to replace all of them."
The Class 5A team includes West Monroe players Shelby Aulds, Chris Sinclair and Justin Brodnax.
Adam Cerniglario of Claiborne Christian was named Player of the Year in C and Cade Bowen of Ouachita Christian School was Pitcher of the Year for 2008 in 1A.
The Class 4A team includes Neville players Trevor Stennett, Barron Bullock, Patrick Ensminger, Raph Rhymes, and Will Hardy.
Also making the 4A list was Andrew Ray of West Ouachita.
Sterlington players named to the All-State 2A squad included Mark Threlkeld, Stephen Gandy and Ryan Phelps.
Matt Kennedy and James Laird of Ouachita Christian School were named to the 1A squad.
Ryan Powell, Casey Wedrall, Kip Robinson and Jake Bell all of Claiborne Christian earned spots on the Class C squad.
St. Frederick players included Jake Brown and Landon Williams. |
