Deadline approaches to apply for three local scholarships

The Ouachita Volunteers for Family and Community will offer three different scholarships to local students.

Deadline for applications is Saturday, May 31.

The scholarships are valued at $300 each.

The Audrey Dawson Scholarship is presented to an outstanding 4-H club member in Ouachita Parish.

The Euna Spielman Scholarship is presented to a student in the field of home economics at a college level. The applicant must be a college sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student next semester.

The Jewel McQuiller Scholarship is presented to a Ouachita Parish college undergraduate student or vocational school student.

Students interested in applying for these scholarships should call the LSU Ag Center in West Monroe at 323-2251.
