Bobby Caldwell
Mr. Bobby Caldwell, 67, escaped this world to enter into his father's kingdom on May 12, 2008, after a nine-year battle with melanoma.
His funeral was at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at North Monroe Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Dyer officiating. Interment was in Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Visitation was Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Era Caldwell; two brothers, James and Dalton Caldwell; and his mother and father-in-law, Margaret and Carl Chapman.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Reta Caldwell; three sons, Craig Caldwell and wife, Colleen, of South Jordan, Utah, Ran Caldwell and wife, Angela, of Sterlington, and David Caldwell and wife, Dana, of Magnolia, Ark.; six grandchildren, Taylor, Kolby, Caylee, Jace, Carson and Katelyn Caldwell; sister, Millie Thomas and husband, Jerry, of Sterlington; and sister and brother-in-law, Melba and Emmitt Moore of West Monroe.
Pallbearers were Mike Smith, Sonny Standifer, Roger Carr, Emmitt Moore, Cliff Hart and J.T. Johnson.

Faye B. Cascio
Mrs. Faye B. Cascio, 86, of Monroe, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008, at St. Francis Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, at St. Matthew Catholic Church with Msgr. Edmund Moore and Rev. Sebastian Kallarackal officiating. Interment was in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Visitation was Monday evening with a vigil wake service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by husband, Charles C. "Duffy" Cascio; and parents, T.C. and Harvie Bearden of Farmerville.
Survivors include her daughter, Charlene Cascio Bryant and husband, Wayne; two granddaughters, Lisa Renee` Bryant McNease and husband, Bobby, and Lucinda Faye Bryant Stine and husband, Steve; great-grandchildren, Mallory Paige DeVillier, Bryant Paul DeVillier, and their father Paul DeVillier, Morgan Ashley Woods, Madison Claire Woods, and their father David Woods; one sister, Tommie Lou Boggs of Farmerville, and her children, who were like Faye's own; and special part of the family and devoted caregiver, Sonia "LuLu" Heckard.
Pallbearers were Rick Inzina, Raymond Lingenfielder, David Martin, Keith Spence, Don Skains, and Bobby Kelley. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Greg Sampognaro, Mike Boggs and Jack Boggs.

Maudie Elma DeMoss
Funeral services for Maudie Elma DeMoss, 100, of Calhoun, were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May14, 2008, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe with Revs. Tony Smith and Clyde Kelly officiating. Interment was at Antioch Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday evening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Otto DeMoss; parents, Ashley and Lela Griggs; brothers, Julian Griggs, Emmett Griggs and Doyle Griggs; and sisters, Leola Thomson and Lula Armstrong.
Survivors include her son, Bill DeMoss and wife, Faye; daughter, Gretchen Lewis; sisters, Margaret Carso and Eloise Feazel and husband, Byron; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends; and special caregivers and friends, Brandi Volentine and Mary Thompson.

William C. Farr
Mr. William C. "Billy" Farr, 66, of Monroe, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, in Monroe, after a long, but very valiant battle with cancer.
His funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Lea Joyner United Methodist Church in Monroe with Rev. Weldon Bares officiating. Interment was in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Visitation was Friday evening at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Dwanna Smith Farr; son, Rodney Farr and wife, Cynthia; daughter, Deidra Farr; stepchildren, Brook Mixon and husband, Tim, and Brad Horne; grandchildren, Ashton and Cameron Farr; step-grandchildren, Kirsten, Bailey and Tim Mixon; and sister, Jane Gayle Stewart and husband, Bill.
Pallbearers were Freddy Cook, Larry Cooper, Shelby Funderburk, Joe D. Guerriero, Joe Mallard, Buddy Paul, Sherman Shaw and Bill Stewart. Jackie Harding
Mrs. Jackie "Polly" Harding, 87, of Calhoun, entered into heaven to be with her best friend and beloved husband, Russell, on May 9, 2008.
A celebration of her life was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum with Nick Rogers officiating. Visitation was immediately before the service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Notchie Butler; her oldest sister, Margie Foreman; brother in-law, A.L. "Pickle" Foreman; and brother in-law, Hilton McCoy Phillips.
Survivors include her daughter, Belva Sue Shows Rogers and husband, Nelson; son, Lonnie Shows and wife, Lynn; granddaughter, Tracee Lynn Randall and husband, Bobby; grandsons, Lloyd "Buddy" Smith,

Dr. Gentry Thomas Jones, Ph.D, died on Thursday, May 15, 2008, after a lengthy illness.
His funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, May 19, at Grace Episcopal Church with Rev. Gregg Riley officiating. A private burial was under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Survivors include his sister, Virginia Crow and husband, Klien, of Monroe; and many nieces and nephews, including Brenda Rowan and husband Bob of Monroe, and Alicia Harrell and husband, Mike, of West Monroe.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel H. Jones; daughter, Dorothy Ellen Jones; granddaughter, Carol Lynn Hill; parents, Redford and Eva Jones; brothers, Dick Jones and Robert Jones; and sisters, Ruth Jones, Rose Trichell and Ellen Daige.

Ruby Hudson Mitchell
Ruby Hudson Mitchell, born Oct. 5, 1923, died Friday, May 9, 2008, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe.
Survivors include her son, James E. Mitchell and wife, Anne of Kingwood, Texas; daughter, Jan Kay Scott and husband, Herbert, of West Monroe; four grandchildren, James W. Mitchell, Cathleen Mitchell, Robert Scott and Laura Scott Lewis.
At her request and instruction, her body has been donated to the LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.

Tonya Michelle Shepherd
Tonya Michelle Shepherd, 36, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008.
Her funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Roy Duffey officiating. Interment was in Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe. Visitation was Friday evening.
Survivors include her son, Howard Lee Shepherd; daughter, Kansas Shepherd; father, Jackie McGurk and wife, Diane; mother, Linda Hamilton and husband, Sam; fiancé, Jerry Patton and his three children; stepsister, Michelle Burch and her three children; and a group of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lance Michael Thomas
Funeral services for Lance Michael Thomas, 20, of Monroe, were at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at North Monroe Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Dye and Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment was in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Visitation was Tuesday evening at the church.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Aubrey Evans and Bill Bailey;
Survivors include his parents, Danny and Connie Thomas, sister, Melissa Thomas Jarrell, brother-in-law, Troy Jarrell, all of Monroe, and the most special nephew ever, Cason Jarrell. He is also survived by his grandparents, Ruth Evans Mack and Mary Thomas, both of Monroe; family including, Johnny and Kelly Bailey, Glenda Cook, Teresia and Tim Dickerson of Monroe, Mark and Janna Bailey of Dallas, Mack and Adrienne Bailey of Lafayette, and Patricia and Roddy Watt of Bastrop. He will be missed by numerous cousins, friends, ULM professors and teachers, civic organizations; and his North Monroe Baptist Church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, L. C. and Fannie Fields and a brother, Tommy Fields.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Edward Weaver; children; Deborah Pauline Weaver, Patricia Dianne Braddock and husband, Cliff, and Nancy W. Iseminger and husband, Randy; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Iseminger and Paul Braddock; sisters, Ida Mae Hills, Elizabeth Smallwood, Lucille Jungina, Betty Tee, Eunice Vermillion, Glinda Fields and Sandra Simpson; brothers; Lloyd Fields, David Fields and Bill Fields; and more than 100 nieces and nephews.

Herbert H. Webb
Herbert H. "Pops" Webb, 67, of Shreveport and formerly of Monroe, went to heaven on May 13, 2008, at The Grace Home in Shreveport after a courageous battle with cancer.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, May 16, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Glen Gore officiating. Interment followed. Visitation was Thursday evening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Williams and Margaret Webb of Monroe.
Survivors include his wife, Joan; son, Curtis Lee Webb and wife, Kelly; three daughters, Marjo Christine Webb Collins and husband, Mike, Terri Lynn Webb Bonds and husband, Jeff, and Linda Kay Webb Gore and husband, Paul; the mother of his four children, Nancy Lee Webb; grandchildren, Sara, Stephen, Ashley, Drennon, Justin, Matthew and Lauren; stepgrandchildren, Cooper, Reese, Caci, Cameron and Morgan; and brother, Frank Webb and wife, Ferrie.
