AUBURN, Ala. -- Junior lefthander Ryan Byrd tossed six innings of shutout relief, as the No. 16 LSU baseball team clinched the SEC Western Division by beating Auburn, 15-6, on Friday.

LSU (38-16-1, 17-11-1 SEC) won its nation-leading 15th-straight game including 11-straight in conference play.

Auburn fell to 28-27 overall and 11-18 in SEC play.

Byrd (2-1) earned the win after holding the Auburn Tigers to only two hits while striking out five. Trailing 5-2 when he entered in relief of starter Blake Martin, Byrd was untouchable.

Meanwhile, the LSU offense came alive with four runs in the fourth innings, two in the fifth, three in the seventh and four in the eighth.

Eight LSU batters had at least one RBI.

LSU's Ryan Schimpf, Matt Clark and Leon Lanrdy combined for nine of the Tigers' 18 hits.
