ALEXANDRIA – The Ouachita Christian School Eagles got some timely hits Saturday when they needed them, including a solo home run by Jacob Slade.

Bowen struck out eight in the contest.

This marks the fourth time in the 28 years Harper has been coach at OCS that he has brought home the state championship. The last state title came in 2005.

In this title contest, the Eagles struck first by scoring two runs in the first inning.

Blake Gillikin singled, scoring Reeves. James Laird scored a run on a wild pitch.

The Eagles added a run in the second inning. Bowen singled and later scored on a single by James Laird.

OCS got a solo home run from Jacob Slade in the top of the third, scoring Blake Gillikan ahead of him. OCS did not score again, but Bowen prevailed on the mound to give them the state title.

OCS finished the season with a 31-7 overall record.

The Eagles were also led at the plate by John Clay Revves, who had two singles, James Laird, who had one single, Cody Sisson, who had one single, Hayden Robinson who had a double and Matt Kennedy who had a double.
