Story Archives: Miles set for LSU tour stop in Monroe

Miles set for LSU tour stop in Monroe
by Joe Durham, Jr. - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The LSU Tigers, fresh off winning the national championship, will bring the annual 2008 Tiger Tour to Monroe Tuesday.

The Ouachita chapter of the LSU Alumni Association will once again sponsor the event on Tuesday at the Monroe Civic Center. Given the weather history sometimes surrounding the event, keep a weather eye on this.

Les Miles has been known to miss the occasion, so did Nick Saban before him.
In fact, Miles had to arrange a second meeting date last year because he simply couldn't get here.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. with a cash bar. Dinner is served at 6:45 p.m. and the program is at 7 p.m.

The tickets are $50 per person, or $400 for a table of eight, or $500 for a VIP table of eight.

LSU merchandise will be on sale.

Tickets may be purchased by contacting Marie Rockhold at 3628-8206.

We have 115 chapters nationwide and are adding three or four more shortly," said Jason Ramazon, director of chapter programs. "It's great to follow a winner and everyone wants to be a part of winning.

Ramazon said Monroe was one of the largest chapters in the state along side of New Orleans and Baton Rouge.

Trent Johnson, new men's basketball coach and Chancellor William Jenkins are also expected.
