Eagles advance to title game

The No. 1 seed Ouachita Christian School Eagles advanced to the class 1A state championship game Wednesday with an 8-0 victory over St. Martin's.

The Eagles next game will be at 7 p.m., Saturday at Bringhurst Field in Alexandria against the winner of the Mangham/Northlake Christian contest, which was played Wednesday night.

The Eagles were aided by starting pitcher Cade Bowen, who was relieved in the top of the seventh Bowen struck out seven St. Martin batters.

Bowen, one of three seniors on the OCS squad, was the winning pitcher in the game.

The Eagles were also led at the plate by John Clay Revves, who had two singles, James Laird, who had one single, Cody Sisson, who had one single, Hayden Robinson who had a double and Matt Kennedy who had a double.

"It was played well, " said OCS coach Micah Harper. "Bowen pitched well and our defense played well. It was a good game."
