Area churches host

flag football league

Bishop Alvin Walker of The Lighthouse Church, Dr. Johnny Drumgole, pastor of Liberty Christian Center and five other area churches are sponsoring the "Kick Off" of a summer youth flag football league at Richwood High School field from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, May 24.

Registration will be held in the school cafeteria from 8-9:30 a.m. with play starting right after registration.

Boys ages 8-17 are welcome to play. Refreshments will be served. This activity will continue each Saturday until the final game on July 19. An awards banquet will be held on Saturday, Aug. 2.

Other churches that are supporting this event are Greater Realness, Starlight Baptist Church, St. Matthews Church of Christ Holiness, Zion Hill Baptist Church and Morehouse Dream Pioneer Church.

Ricky Willis will give a sermon entitled "A Godly Family" in both morning worship services. A special gift will be given to all mothers in celebration of Mother's Day. The "I Love Lucie" women's group will have "2nd Sunday Salsa Sales," selling salsa from the Louisiana Methodist Children's Home to raise money for local mission projects. 4:45 p.m.-Children's choir will meet to rehearse for "The King of the Jungle" musical planned for 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 18. 5 p.m.-Pathfinders, junior/senior high youth meet. 5:30 p.m.-Prayer group meets.

Monday, May 12 — 6:30 p.m.-Boy Scout Troop 66 meets in the Fellowship Hall and Christian Life Center.

Wednesday, May 14 — 6:30 a.m.-Men's prayer breakfast meets at Shoney's. 10 a.m.-Adult Bible study meets. 6 p.m.-Junior/senior high youth meet. 6:30 p.m.-Adult choir and contemporary worship band meet for practice.

Thursday, May 15 — 9:30 a.m.-50+ Group meets in the Fellowship Hall.

Frantom Chapel Church, 494 Frantom Chapel Road, Eros

Sundays — 10 a.m.-Sunday school. 11 a.m.-Worship. 5:30 p.m.-Evening worship. Wednesdays — 7 p.m.- Worship.

Wednesday, May 21 — 10:30 a.m.- XYZ (Xtra Years of Zest) will meet. Guest speaker will be Larry Foreman of the Ouachita Parish Public Library. Paul Mallett will bring the devotional. The selection of officers for 2008-09 will occur. Please bring a covered dish to share.
