Claiborne romps past Phoenix
by Joe Durham, Jr. - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The No. 1 seed in Class C Claiborne Christian Crusaders raced through the regional round of the state playoff with relative ease as they defeated No. 32 seed Phoenix by a 30-1 margin Monday.

"I felt so bad for those kids," said Claiborne coach Stewart Miller. "They apparently weren't prepared to play. They looked like basketball players trying to play baseball."

Claiborne's next game will be in the quarterfinal round at 1 p.m., Saturday at home against No. 8 seed Hackberry, who defeated Dubach 20-17 in the regionals.
