Rev. Leo George Balsamo Jr.
Rev. Leo George Balsamo, Jr., 42, of Monroe, passed away Friday, April 11, 2008.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Abundant Life Full Gospel Fellowship Church with Rev. Shirley Davidson and Bishop Michael Atunrase officiating. Interment was in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.Visitation was Monday evening at the church.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Lynn Chriceol; and his sSpiritual Father in the Lord, Rev. Nathan Jones.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Denise Dupree Balsamo; children, Leo George Balsamo III and wife, Brittany, Aaron M. Balsamo and Anthony Balsamo, all of Monroe; brothers, Robert Floyd Smith, Perry Lefler, Matt Balsamo, Billy Joe Dupree and Hank Chriceol, all of West Monroe; sisters, Sonya Lively of West Monroe, and Laura Ann Corner; father, Leo George Balsamo Sr. and wife, Annie Pearl, of West Monroe; mother, Bobbie Diane Lively; mother-in-law, Lucy Dupree of Monroe; and father-in-law, Tommy Dupree.
Pallbearers were Johnny Tarver, Bro. Rich Little, Larry Swatsenberg, Jack Lewis, Kenny Lewis, Justin Chriceol, Bro. Dean Roy and Steve Eyre. Honorary pallbearers were Bro. Billy Davidson, Bro. Stanley Groan, Gary Davidson, Jamal Miller and Jim Lee.

Eva Ruth Kilpatrick Bonnette
Eva Ruth Kilpatrick Bonnette, 79, of West Monroe, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at West Monroe Guest House.
Her funeral was at 10 a.m Saturday, April 19, at Pleasant Hill Church in West Monroe with Bro. Lamar Cranston and Bro. George Jacobs officiating. Burial was at Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe. Visitation was Friday evening at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Hubbard and Katie Mae Kilpatrick; sister, Mona Fay Kilpatrick; and daughter, Donna Marie Bonnette.
Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Ken Bonnette Sr.; children, Janice Reeves and husband, Gene, Ken Bonnette Jr. and wife, Lisa, Bruce Bonnette and wife, Anne Louise, and Pam Dollar and husband, Doug; grandchildren, Chris Reeves and wife, Ashley, Matthew Reeves, Brynner, Logan, Carly, Kendall Bonnette, Amber Kimble and husband, Josh, Heather and Daniel Bonnette, Savannah and Alana Dollar; great-grandchildren, Connor, Madison, Tori and Luke; twin sister, Neva Brown and husband, Tony; brother, Bobby Kilpatrick and wife, Betty; sister, Myrle White and husband, Jimmy, and brother Ralph Kilpatrick and wife, Sharon; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Helen Stowe.
Pallbearers were Chris Reeves, Matthew Reeves, Brynner Bonnette, Logan Bonnette, Daniel Bonnette and special friend, Pete Messina.

Norma Jean Brown
Ms. Norma Jean Brown, 66, of West Monroe, passed away Friday, April 18, 2008.
Graveside services were at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 20, at Hughes Chapel Cemetery in Beekman under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe. Visitation was Sunday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her sister, Sarah Johnson of Pine Bluff, Ark, and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Colonel Jackson Brown and Edna Leona Mathis Brown; and seven brothers and sisters, Virginia Boseman, Allene Watson, C.J. Brown, Lucille Boseman, Bennie Brown, Gene "Joe" Brown and Donald Brown.
Pallbearers were Ernie Boseman, Patrick Boseman, Brent Stokes, Ray Stokes, Chad Watson, Daniel Watson, Hughen Watson and Dan Wooten.

Mr. Luther James Coonrod, 83, of Monroe, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.
His funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Rex Barker officiating. Interment was in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Binagia Coonrod.
Survivors include his son, Gary Coonrod and children, Allison, Ashley and Amanda Coonrod; daughter, JoAnn Coonrod Warner and husband, Keith, and children, Bridget and Andrew Mills; and special nieces and nephews, Mickey and Fran Mihna, and Mary Grace and Bob Redder.

Brandon Lee Hoy, 23, of Calhoun, died Sunday, April 20, 2008, in his residence.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe with Rev. Philip Bedenbender officiating. Burial was in Cypress Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation was Wednesday evening.
He was preceded in death by his brother John Franklin Hoy; sister, Stephanie Renee Hoy; grandparents, John and Francis Bennett; and grandfather Walter Hoy.

His funeral was at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 20, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Interment was in Lowes Cemetery in LaSalle Parish. Visitation was Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning at the funeral home.

Mrs. Stella Lewis, 79, of West Monroe, passed away Monday, April 14, 2008, in West Monroe.
Her funeral was at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe with Rev. Stevie Hillman officiating. Interment was in Monroe Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was Wednesday evening and immediately before the service Thursday.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Onelia Barr; brothers, John Barr, Mack Carlton Barr and Creff Barr; and sister, Kate Ponthieux.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Devon Lewis Sr. of West Monroe; sons, Devon Lewis Jr. and wife, Renee, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, Jeff Lewis and wife, Alida, of Lafayette; grandchildren, Shelly Haarala, Devon "Trey" Lewis III, Patrick Lewis, Emily Lewis, Benjamin Lewis, Jordan Lewis, Abigail Lewis and Isabel Lewis; great-grandchildren, Olivia Haarala, Emma Haarala and Hayden Haarala; brothers, Joseph Barr and Huey Barr of Simmesport; sisters, Elodie Whitehead of Pineville, Joyce Bertrand of College Station, Texas, and Maxine Johnston of Simmesport.

Mrs. Princess Beatrice "Miss Bea" Wilson Oliver, 87, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2008, in West Monroe.

She was preceded in death by her first and second husbands, William Oliver and Woodrow Wilson; one sister; and two brothers.
Survivors include her children, Melvin Wilson, Frances Lum and husband, Harold, John Wilson, and Janet Rushing and husband, Tim; brother, Tommy Dalton Sr. and wife, Jean, and sister, Ollie Millien; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
