Group plans mound tour
N. E. Louisiana Archeology Society will meet at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at Stubbs Hall, University of Louisiana-Monroe campus, for a guided tour to Jonesville.
While in Jonesville, attendees will visit the mounds on the west side of the Ouachita River in Caldwell and Catahoula parishes.
Tour leader will be Joe Saunders, Ph.D, area archeologist. Some of the sites to be visited are Wade Landing, Boothe Landing, Alexander Mounds, McGuffee Mounds, and Routon and Troyville Mounds. Return trip will be through Clayton by the Mounds Trail.
Lunch will be available at Jackie's Restaurant in Jonesville or you may bring a picnic lunch.
