First United Methodist Church, 1411 Glenwood Drive, West Monroe:

Sunday, April 6 — 9 a.m.-traditional worship in the sanctuary. 10 a.m.-Sunday school for all ages. 10:50 a.m.-contemporary worship in the Christian Life Center. noon-Newcomer's class for those who have recently joined the church or for those who are interested in joining. The class will continue each Sunday in April. Lunch will be served and childcare will be provided. 4:30 p.m.-Confirmation mentor meeting. 4:45 p.m.-Children's choir. 5 p.m.-Pathfinders, junior and senior high youth meet. 5:30 p.m.-C.S.I. and Kajukenbo men's self defense class. 5;45 p.m.-teamKID Bible study.

Wednesday, April 9 — 6:30 a.m.-Men's prayer breakfast meets at Shoney's. 10 a.m.-Adult Bible study. 6 p.m.-Junior, senior high youth meet. 6:30 p.m.-Adult Integrity Choir and the contemporary worship band meet.

Thursday, April 10 — 50+ Group meets in the fellowship hall.

Frantom Chapel Church, 494 Frantom Chapel Road, Eros

Sundays — 10 a.m.-Sunday school. 11 a.m.-Worship. 5:30 p.m.-Evening worship. Wednesdays — 7 p.m.- Worship.

Wednesday, April 16 — 10:30 a.m.-XYZ (Xtra Years of Zest) meets for a devotional, program and covered dish luncheon. Local speaker and humorist V.P. Dalrymple will give the program. Fern Whatley will lead the devotional. The event is open to the public.

New Chapel Hill Southern Baptist Church, 61 New Chapel Hill Road, West Monroe.

Sundays — 9:30 a.m.-Sunday school. 10:45 a.m.-Worship. 6 p.m.-Worship

Wednesdays — 5 p.m.-Supper in gym, open to members and visitors. 6 p.m.-Mission friends, RA, GA and youth. 6:20 p.m.-Prayer meeting and Bible study.

In Morehouse Parish:

Greater First COGIC invites local residents to the first Morehouse District Musical featuring The Monroe District Choir, The Morehouse District Choir, The Morehouse District Praise Dancers and the Bastrop District Choir.

A district meeting will begin at 7 p.m. nightly from April 14-18.

Friday events include a Women's Day prayer at 8 a.m. and classes and worship starting at 11 a.m. with speaker Earline Jackson, a district missionary. Friday evening, a service will begin at 7 p.m. with speaker Vanessa W. Gatlin.

Official Day is set for Sunday, April 20. Sunday school will be held at 9:45 a.m. with worship beginning at 11:15 a.m. Speaker of the hour will be superintendent Jessie Winston Sr.
