To celebrate National Tourism Week May 12-18, the Monroe-West Monroe Convention & Visitors Bureau is hosting its second annual photography contest.

The contest is free to enter and offers more than $700 in awards.

The goal of the contest is to capture features that make Monroe and West Monroe attractive to tourists.

This year's theme is "Twin City Traditions & People Enjoying Them."

Awards will be given to winners in adult and student divisions.

Winning photographs will also be exhibited at the Monroe-West Monroe Convention & Visitors Bureau from May 12-July 1.

Photos may be placed in national advertisements to promote the Monroe-West Monroe area and its attractions.

The deadline to enter is 5 p.m. Friday, April 25.

For more information, visit the Monroe-West Monroe Convention and Visitors Bureau Web site at www.monroe-westmonroe.org or call the Communications Department at 387-5691.
