Heart Gallery plans second showing The Heart Gallery of Northeast Louisiana will hold the opening for its second annual showing from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at Biedenharn Gardens in Monroe.
The Heart Gallery of Northeast Louisiana recruits professional photographers to take meaningful and unique portraits of Northeast Louisiana's waiting children. The portraits are on display in a variety of venues where prospective adoptive parents can learn more about the children.
This collaborative effort between CASA of Northeast Louisiana and the adoptions unit of the Office of Community Services seeks to bring the community closer to the faces of children waiting for adoption.
The goal of the Heart Gallery is to elicit support for and interest in the lives of these children — and ultimately find each child and sibling group a "forever family." Many of the foster children featured in the gallery are older or are special needs children, minorities, or members of a sibling group. All are considered hard-to-place children.
