The West Monroe Lady Rebel softball team got off to a good start in 2-5A action Tuesday afternoon with a 6-1 defeat of the Ouachita Lady Lions.

Pushing across a pair of runs in the first inning, West Monroe (12-5-3, 1-0) scored runs in their final three at-bats as well as they pounded out nine hits and committed only one error

Whitney Moore picked up the win in the circle for the Lady Rebels while Cymantha Lee was the losing pitcher for the Lady Lions.

Neville 4, Bastrop 0

A shutout in the circle by Caitlin Taylor kept the Neville Lady Tigers perfect in 2-4A action as they defeated the Lady Rams of Bastrop 4-0 on Tuesday.

Despite being out hit by Bastrop 6-4, Neville was able to push across single runs in the first and third innings and a pair of insurance runs in the sixth to grab the victory.

In other 2-4A action, West Ouachita beat Franklin Parish 7-1 at home, pounding out a season-high 14 hits in the win over the Patriots.
